What it does
You design a lampshade by setting its height, a diameter at several heights, ribs, twist, wall thickness and an optional socket holder. The 3D view updates as you change a value, and you can export the result as STL, SCAD, PNG, JSON. It includes 28 premade designs, each fitting 250 × 250 × 250 mm, and a setting for your own printer's build volume.
How it works
Shade Studio is a static website. The geometry, the 3D preview (three.js) and the exports all run in your browser, so there is no server that receives your designs. The site uses cookieless page-view analytics and no advertising; the privacy and terms page has the details.
What it is not
It designs lampshades; it does not design the rest of a lamp or check its electrics. Use a certified socket and cable set and LED bulbs only. Dimensions and weights are estimates, and the files come as-is.
